{"id":1078,"date":"2009-03-05T08:23:08","date_gmt":"2009-03-05T07:23:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/nintendowiistockists.co.uk\/?p=1078"},"modified":"2009-03-05T08:23:08","modified_gmt":"2009-03-05T07:23:08","slug":"nintendo-serves-up-mario-power-tennis","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/kissmyconsole.co.uk\/nintendo-wii\/nintendo-serves-up-mario-power-tennis\/","title":{"rendered":"Nintendo Serves Up Mario Power Tennis"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This Friday sees the release of Mario Power Tennis, which lets you take to the court as your favourite characters from the red plumber\u2019s world.<\/p>\n<p>Being a Wii update of an old GameCube favourite, the title allows you to use the Wii Remote to play strokes &#8211; much like in Wii Sports Tennis &#8211; and to unleash the Power Shots (which are different for each character) that you\u2019ll need to master in order to win.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1079 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/kissmyconsole.co.uk\/nintendo-wii\/files\/2009\/03\/mario-power-tennis-300x227.jpg\" alt=\"mario-power-tennis\" width=\"270\" height=\"204\" srcset=\"http:\/\/kissmyconsole.co.uk\/nintendo-wii\/files\/2009\/03\/mario-power-tennis-300x227.jpg 300w, http:\/\/kissmyconsole.co.uk\/nintendo-wii\/files\/2009\/03\/mario-power-tennis.jpg 405w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 270px) 100vw, 270px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This is no realistic sports game like Virtua Tennis though. While it does have regular tennis courts it also features gimmick courts &#8211; in the Luigi&#8217;s Mansion one, for example, you\u2019ll encounter ghosts which trip you up using banana peels.<\/p>\n<p>As well as a standard tournament mode, the title offers a series of tennis-themed mini-games including \u2018Artist on the Court\u2019, which sees you hitting paintballs to make a picture.<\/p>\n<p>Mario Power Tennis is also playable in split screen with a friend and features multiple control types that vary in difficulty, allowing players of all experience levels to get in on the action.<\/p>\n<p>[asa]B001O1QLDO[\/asa]<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This Friday sees the release of Mario Power Tennis, which lets you take to the court as your favourite characters from the red plumber\u2019s world.
