When the Nintendo Exec Vice President of sales says something you’d better listen and Cammie Dunaway has a thing or two to say about the DS Lite.
She maintains that the DS Lite will not be replaced by the DSi and instead the two consoles will co-exist in hand held gaming harmony.
Cammie told Wired.com that ‘There’s an opportunity for both of them to coexist for some period of time.’ She also believes that the DS Lite has ‘huge untapped potential’. claiming at present around 1 in every 5 households in the US owns one of the devices.
She also believes that the DSi shouldn’t be region locked, telling Wired.com that she believes ‘just as you can currently buy a DS in Japan and use it here in the U.S., that you should be able to do that with DSi.’
Cammie’s general message is – there’s plenty of life in the DS lite yet!
