The Nintendo DS is currently sitting pretty at the top of the tree when it comes to sales of gaming hardware in the US.
Sales in August put the DS clearly at the top with 518,300 with its principle rival the PSP seemingly miles behind with a comparatively puny 253,000 units sold. <!—more–>.
The PSP 3000 is due out soon which may account for some loss of sales as fans wait for the souped up version to hit the stores, but what is it about the DS that has caught the public’s imagination?
Is it just it’s mix of innovative design and fun titles or something more?
