New Year Resolutions Are Easy With The DS!

What are your resolutions this year?  Lose weight, get fit, stop smoking, learn a language?

The usual right?

And tell me how many of those have you made, year after year and broken?…   Hmm… Exactly!

This year is going to be different! 2009 will be the year you stick to them, with the help of your Nintendo DS of course…

The brillant ‘My Coach’ range will help you – there is one for each of those resolutions with more titles being introduced over the coming year.

Did I tell you we are giving these away?  Keep reading to find out more about these games… and what you have to do in order to WIN THEM ALL (including the cute little games case)!

My Health Coach: Manage Your Weight  It’s like having your own personal trainer in your DS except they are really tiny and almost stick-like (you’ll know what I mean when you see it). This game comes with a free pedometer and measures how many steps and calories you’ve burned on a daily basis. You insert the pedometer into the DS and all the data is transferred over. It tracks your progress in the form of charts and offers you helpful tips and motivation to keep you focused and on track. Clever isn’t it?

My Health Coach: Stop Smoking   It’s a demon weed alright!  One that thousands every year try to beat. What better way is there to give up than with the techniques used by the late self-help guru Allen Carr?   Choose your personal coach from among six of Allen Carr’s experts and they will personalise a programme for you and encourage you until ‘Freedom Day’, which is incidentally the day you have your last fag!  You will soon notice the difference using this in conjunction with My Health Coach above, or indeed any form of exercise.  Here’s to a healthier you regardless of whether you use this to help you or not.  The game makes it easier, but a good dosage of willpower is all you need. You know you can do it!

My Word Coach  Improving your vocabulary can only heed well for you. The English language has the most words in any language so it won’t hurt to learn a few more will it? Using word games, you will effortlessly learn and start to use new words in your everyday conversation. You might not turn into Stephen Fry overnight (the man is a walking dictionary/thesaurus) but you will improve your vocabulary playing My Word Coach for only 15-20 minutes a day.

My French Coach   Bonjour!  If that’s as far as your French goes – you need this game.  If you’ve always wanted to learn a new language but never had the time to get into heavy-duty study or just found it too difficult, this little game will start with the basics. Using games it teaches you basic French vocabulary and grammar then tests you on it. Your progress is charted throughout, and you can learn at your pace. .

My Spanish Coach   2009 is coming and you want to broaden your horizons don’t you?  If you want to get the most out of your holiday this summer you’ll need to know a little bit more in Spanish then ‘More Sangria please!’ (Some might argue that’s all you need to know but I beg to differ). Hopefully it’ll teach you how to say (or how not to say) “Do you sell any real British food here, like lasagne?” which I overheard being asked by an angry British fella in a tapas bar in Spain last year. Just as before, the way of learning is exactly the same but in Spanish.  You can learn it on the plane over there.
